After a week of rain, traffic gridlock and unavailable teams, last week saw the completion of six league matches at Last Match Stands Redbridge. In Division 1 Chakwal Stars defeated Traditional Corsairs with a high scoring game which saw nearly 400 runs scored in the match. Batting first the stars piled up 218 runs for the lost of only 3 wickets with Aumer and Naveed scoring 50’s, Corsairs set off in pursuit at a healthy run rate and looked likely to reach their target which proved too high in the end falling short by 33 runs. In the other division 1 encounter Desi Sloggers finished on 147 replying to East London Eagles 163 to lose by 16 runs. For East London Eagles, Sajjad Mirza captured 4 wickets for 16 runs after scoring 46 when the Eagles batted.

Division 2 saw a thriller between Staans Stallions and Brothers United with the Stallions just edging it. Batting first the Staans boys amass 170 for 4 with decent runs from all the batters. The Brothers the set about the target reaching 100 in the 12 over and kept the chase going right up to the final over. Needing 7 off the final 2 balls, a dot ball followed by a boundary saw the Brothers falling 2 short finishing on 168. In another match up leaders Ilford Knightriders powered their way to 189 beating Jamia East London Boys 121 easily. In the other matches played AF (118) chased down Ilford Scorchers (116) score for an easy win, while PAK Warroirs won against Lankan Stars.

This week we are up for the Cup with 7 matches scheduled. The winners advance to the second round while the losers go into the plate competition. The second round cup matches will be in 2 weeks time and the draw will be completed this Friday.
Road to Barbados
The draw has been made for the regional competition with £5,000 and the chance to play the LMS World Champs 2015 in Barbados. Please see more information about the draw here.
The team winning our division one league will represent LMS Redbridge in the competition in early September, with the winner going on to the national final. There is also a opportunity for individuals to join the Barbarian Team and head for Barbados, enter competition here.
