Funding has been secured through the Sportivate Programme for East London to run a Handball taster day and launch a new Club for East London. The funding has been received for participants from Barking & Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge.
The taster day will be run by qualified coaches and will run on Wednesday 29 January at Sporthouse, Mayesbrook Park, Lodge Avenue, Dagenham RM8 2JR from 9.30am until 3.30pm. The day is for young people from years 7 to 11 and will run during the following times:
9.30am to 12.15pm for years 7 & 8 mixed

It is planned that some members of the GB Olympic Squad will be attending on the day to assist with the coaching and competitive play throughout the day.
This taster day is to introduce participants to the Sporthouse venue and launch the club sessions which will begin the following week. Participants will be asked to select a name for the new Handball Club.
All schools attending the taster day will be put into a draw to win 4 hours of free court space on one of the courts.
All participants that select the winning name will be entered into a draw to win a free badminton court for 1 hour for up to 4 people.
The Club sessions will be split for the age groups and will be run as follows:
4.30pm to 5.30pm for years 7 & 8 mixed session
