Hidden Brook
Babble; Babble; lonely Brook,
Safe from refuse and from hook.
Spots of sunlight only find,
Where your waterways do wind.
And stars in moonlight only see,
Your silver waters ‘neath the tree.
Ripples from your shallows rush,
To hide your secrets in the bush.
As soft beneath the bough you creep
To rest your spirit in the deep.
There are few left of your kind
For a poet to come and find.
