Redbridge Museum – Map of the week

To mark the opening of our new exhibition ‘A History of Redbridge in Maps’ we will be sharing an online range of thought-provoking images.

This week we have chosen Redbridge during 1939-1945.  This map was created by Redbridge Council’s Geographic Information systems team. It was based on maps created just after the war by Ilford Recorder newspaper and Wanstead & Woodford Borough Council. The map highlights areas that were destroyed by exploded bombs and mines during this time.
